Inter Miami will have a jam-packed 2024.
The Herons ended the 2023 season on a poor note, missing out on the post-season despite the talent on the roster.
As next year approaches, the South Florida club is taking steps to make sure they can consistently contend for trophies.
According to Sporting Director Chris Henderson, Miami will be active on the trade market to improve the squad: “Without tipping what we’re going to do in trades, I do feel that we need to have competition in every spot.”
Already, reports have stated that Miami is finalizing a deal to bring striker Luis Suárez to the club. Furthermore, per Tom Bogert of The Athletic, the Herons are in pole position to land coveted free agent wing-back Julian Gressel.
Miami will need the extra depth and quality as they get ready to play in the CONCACAF Champions Cup for the first time.
Inter Miami’s Leagues Cup opponents

The Champions Cup draw took place on December 14th, revealing Miami’s opponents for the upcoming tournament.
Miami’s win in the Leagues Cup in August granted them a bye in the first round, moving them straight to the round of 16.
The Herons will either take on Nashville SC or Moca FC in a 2-legged round of 16 match-up.
Should Nashville win their opening game, Miami will face off against the men in gold in what would be a Leagues Cup final rematch.
Miami’s entry in the tournament kicks off on March 5th, with the Quarterfinals and Semifinals taking place in April, and the Final happening on June 2.

Miami intends to add to its trophy cabinet after tasting Leagues Cup glory.
Sporting Director Henderson has already mentioned that improvements are on the way: “We’re looking at everything to [improve the squad.] We have high hopes for 2024, and we want to show what we can do as a club.”
Whatever the offseason holds, one thing is evident, Miami is on the cusp of something great.
