Inter Miami continues its off season roster build.
Club Sporting Director Chris Henderson stated in his end-of-year conference that the Herons will be active within the winter transfer window.
“Without tipping what we’re going to do in trades, I do feel that we need to have competition in every spot.”
Already, Miami has signed ex-Barcelona striker Luis Suarez and is in negotiations with free agent wing back Julian Gressel.
Furthermore, the men in pink have been linked with a bevy of South American talent, including Boca Juniors midfielder Cristian Medina.
Though that transfer didn’t quite come to fruition, Miami is once again linked to another Argentine.
Inter Miami hunts for defensive reinforcements

Recently, Miami traded defender Kamal Miller to the Portland Timbers in exchange for $625,000 in General Allocation Money.
Miller was a solid defender with excellent ball-playing abilities. Unfortunately, his lack of pace and inconsistency made it difficult for Miami goalkeeper Drake Callender, at times.
Though many fans were confused about the move, for Miami, the extra GAM they received from the move will help buy down other contacts on the roster.
The move will give Miami the extra cap space they need to add more players.
One player who has recently been linked with a move to South Florida currently plays his football in Brazil.

According to Botafogo beat writer Canal do Medeiros, Inter Miami and the Brazilian side are reportedly in negotiations for center half Victor Cuesta.
Cuesta, 35, is on the older side, a reoccurring theme in Miami’s winter transfers. Suarez, Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba are all in their mid-30s. Potentially adding Cuesta to the side would add another aging player to the team’s ranks.
However, there is an upside for the 35-year-old.
Despite his age, Cuesta is an iron man. Looking at his matches for Botafogo, the Argentine rarely misses a game and has little to no injury history.
Furthermore, his stats, in comparison to the newly departed Kamal Miller, are an improvement in every defensive category.
It remains to be seen if the deal will go through, but if it does, Miami will have another veteran presence in the locker room alongside its young core.
