Inter Miami has its first official preseason match for the 2024 season.
On November 30th, the club announced they would take on El Salvador in an exhibition match at the Estadio Cuscatlan in San Salvador on January 19th.
This is the first official preseason match that Miami has revealed, despite reports indicating that the club would take on other teams.
With the Fort-Lauderdale-based club participating in the CONCACAF Champions Cup in 2024, a trip away to Central America will be good preparation ahead of the tournament that’s set to kick off in February.
Miami ended 2023 with a 1-0 loss against NYCFC. The Herons also didn’t make the playoffs despite winning the Leagues Cup title in August.
The men in pink will hope that they can turn around their form in 2024.
Club Sporting director Chris Henderson has stated that Miami will be active on and off the pitch to prepare the squad to win more trophies: “We’re evaluating every department in our front office and performance staff, to support [Tata Martino] and his staff and all the players to make sure we’re performing everywhere in the club.”
Inter Miami’s high hopes and plans for 2024

Inter Miami is getting ready for an exciting 2024.
Though 2023 ended poorly, the Herons have high expectations for next season, according to Henderson: “We’re looking at everything to [improve the squad.] We have high hopes for 2024, and we want to show what we can do as a club.”
A full offseason of rest for Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets will give the squad an extra boost as well.
Furthermore, the rumors that Luis Suárez will join the team in January will make any Inter Miami fan excited.
Ultimately, Miami’s preseason game against El Salvador will be the first of many tests ahead of the 2024 season.
