Inter Miami receive big Luis Suarez boost days after record-breaking Copa America display

Inter Miami have received a huge boost this week in the form of Luis Suarez after the striker’s historic performance for Uruguay at the Copa America.

The former FC Barcelona attacker became the competition’s oldest goalscorer after scoring a stoppage-time equalizer for Marcelo Bielsa’s side against Canada in the Copa America third-place play-off.

With Suarez also scoring in the penalty shootout as Uruguay scooped up third-place, it was a fitting way for the attacker to end the tournament having hardly kicked a ball for his national team throughout the Copa America.

Yet as a result, Inter Miami have now been handed a big boost ahead of this week’s MLS fixtures.

Suarez already back in Inter Miami training after Copa America exit

As per journalist Tiago Brandao, Suarez is already back training with Inter Miami after Uruguay’s third-place Copa America exit, with the striker preparing for upcoming games against Toronto FC and the Chicago Fire.

With Suarez playing just over 60 minutes of soccer at the Copa America, the 37-year-old attacker returns to Inter Miami fully rested and ready to go again with two MLS games this week.

Moreover, with MLS All-Star week around the corner and Leagues Cup, Suarez could expect some more rest despite the number of big events coming up for Inter Miami and their select few superstars.

Indeed, Suarez’s immediate return to training will be well received by Inter Miami supporters, and the attacker will want to get back to the pitch this week when the Herons host Toronto tomorrow night.

Suarez can be the main guy for the Herons with Lionel Messi injured

Lionel Messi’s injury during the Copa America final will likely keep the Argentina superstar out for a few weeks, with the attacking responsibility likely to fall onto Suarez’s shoulders once again for Inter Miami.

With Julian Gressel thriving out on the wing with Leonardo Campana also showing his goalscoring touch, Inter Miami could still be well-stocked to blast their way through upcoming opponents in MLS and Leagues Cup.

And with Suarez fully fit, the legendary goalscorer could be ready for a titanic run of attacking form, with the striker pumped up to get back out there with Inter Miami and scoring goals for fun.
