Inter Miami’s followers have surged on Instagram after the premiere of David Beckham’s docuseries on Netflix, according to a report from the Daily Mail.
The documentary, which details the life and playing career of the English superstar, debuted on the streaming service on October 4th to favorable reviews.
Alongside Lionel Messi, Beckham is largely seen as the face of the franchise and is often seen kicking the ball around during team practices at Inter Miami’s 50,000 square feet (ca. 4,645 m²) training facility.
The South Florida-based team has also seen its profile rise after the signings of Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba in the summer.
Co-owned by Beckman, the Herons had a historic 2023 which saw them win the Leagues Cup, the team’s first title in club history. As the team looks to add to its success, Beckham’s influence, as well as playing next to Messi, could be another key factor in why other stars want to make the jump to South Florida.
Beckham’s Inter Miami fairy tale

Beckham’s efforts to bring Inter Miami into existence was a long and tireless journey that took nearly a decade to complete.
With Miami’s notoriously strict politics, the former England international struggled to find land and co-owners that could help make his dream of launching a Major League Soccer club come true.
In steps managing owner Jorge Mas and his brother Jose. In 2017, the brothers joined the ownership group, and from that point on, Inter Miami officially got off the ground.
Since then, the club has had highs and lows. But it wasn’t until 2023 that Beckham’s investment paid off.
Messi, Alba, and Busquets signed with the team and took them to new heights. The trio not only helped Miami win the Leagues Cup but also pushed Inter Miami into the upper echelon of world football.
If Beckham didn’t bring an MLS team to Miami, then the likelihood of Messi deciding to play in the league could’ve been slim.
