Will Luis Suárez be an Inter Miami player in 2024?

Speaking to the media during his annual end-of-year conference, the team’s Sporting Director Chris Henderson said there’s nothing official to announce quite yet: “[Suárez] is currently with Gremio, so we don’t want to comment on a player who’s not on our roster. It is another player that’s always been linked with our team, and it’s great to have great players around the world connected with Inter Miami and wanting to come here.”

The Uruguayan has been linked to a move to South Florida for months. The rumors have heated up over the last few weeks, as several reports claimed that the ex-Liverpool forward has struck a deal with the South Florida side.

As Inter Miami shifts focus to 2024, a roster revamp will be on the cards.

Henderson has already stated that the team will be aggressive in player acquisitions in order to compete for more silverware.

Whether these winter plans come to fruition remains to be seen, but what is evident is that the Herons want to remain competitive.

Inter Miami’s off-season kicked off with intention.

Henderson outlined the club’s plans for the next few months, including what they intend on doing during the transfer window: “That is the focus. We’re looking at everything. We’re evaluating every position.”

Miami will need the extra depth as they get ready to compete in numerous domestic and international tournaments.

Henderson also mentioned that the club is aware that they’ll need to add balance to the squad to counteract the aging trio of Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets.

Ultimately, Miami is heading into 2024 with a plan. The Fort Lauderdale team wants to become one of the top teams in Major League Soccer and in order to do that, change within the roster is a must.
