Inter Miami looks set to travel to Asia for a two-game postseason-friendly tour.

Argentine journalist Gaston Edul reported that the South Florida club will travel to East Asia in early November, where they will play two matches against teams that will be announced at a later date.

Miami’s playoff dream ended early, as the team failed to make the postseason.

Their recent 1-0 loss to FC Cincinnati was the nail in the coffin, as the Herons will play their last two matches of the year without the shot of potentially making the playoffs. Inter Miami will end the season away against Charlotte FC on October 21st.

The start of the 2024 Major League Soccer season is projected to begin in early February, leaving a three-month gap between Miami’s last game of 2023, and their first of 2024.

With Miami missing out on the playoffs, the Herons will need to keep up fitness ahead of a highly anticipated 2024 season.

As the team looks to win more silverware next year, they’ll need to develop a close-knit bond. Heading to Asia for two games will help the squad achieve the chemistry needed to make deep runs in the multiple competitions they’ll be playing in next season.

The trip will also be a phenomenal experience for Inter Miami’s young core of players.

Diego Gomez, Benjamin Cremaschi, Facundo Farias, David Ruiz, Lawson Sunderland, Edison Azcona, Tomas Aviles, Noah Allen, and Ian Fray, will benefit from team bonding, and familiarity with veteran players like Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba.

Inter Miami is a team on a mission. Although they didn’t make the playoffs, all eyes will be watching closely to see if the Herons can potentially push for MLS Cup next year.
