Inter Miami and Lionel Messi’s brand continues to grow.
Vogue Magazine has named Lionel Messi’s pink Inter Miami jersey as one of the top 15 fashion items of 2023.
The kit, which shares the list with other items such as denim maxi skirts and DJ headphones, is the 2nd soccer-related item in the top 15.
“Immediately following the Messi announcement, the generic Inter Miami jersey, in an unexpected shade of un–Barbie pink, sold out, giving rise to a rich bootleg industry,” Vogue said in the article.
“Now, nearly five months later, the official Messi jersey, sporting his number 10, remains wait-listed in most sizes on the adidas website.”
Previously, The New York Times released a piece detailing just how popular Messi’s jersey was in the United States.
The Times stated that Messi’s Inter Miami home jersey became the best-selling shirt in the US, just behind Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Miami will hope their new-found popularity in fashion can translate to on-field results.
Inter Miami’s ambitious 2024

Inter Miami is planning for an ambitious 2024.
After failing to make the playoffs in 2023, the Herons want to revamp and be better than ever next season.
Part of that roster revamp includes more attacking reinforcements. According to The Miami Herald, Inter Miami and Luis Suárez are finalizing a deal to bring the striker to the club.
Although the Uruguayan was reticent to reveal his plans, several reports indicate that he’ll be playing in pink come January.
Furthermore, Miami will be active in the trade market as well. Per Sporting Director Chris Henderson, the Herons will look to freshen up its roster with players from within MLS: “Without tipping what we’re going to do in trades, I do feel that we need to have competition in every spot.”
Though there are still two months til the start of next season, Inter Miami is laying the foundation for a successful future.
