Inter Miami’s off-season is closer than expected.
On Tuesday, October 10th, Major League Soccer announced the key dates for its off-season calendar.
At the end of every year, MLS sends out a list of dates detailing the roster-building events available for teams to use in preparation for the upcoming season.
The essential dates start on December 1st when clubs must inform the league whether they’ll be declining or picking up player contract options. The Trade Window opens on December 11th, followed by the first day of Free Agency on December 13th. Finally, on December 21st, the MLS SuperDraft will take place, where top collegiate football players from around the US will be selected by MLS teams that underperformed in 2023.
Inter Miami will have an early off-season as the Herons failed to make the playoffs. Miami will want to refresh its roster after a bitter end to the year.
The dates MLS has provided will give the club options to do that and then some.

The approaching winter transfer window will be key for Inter Miami.
Although they were relatively successful in 2023, highlighted by signing Lionel Messi and winning the Leagues Cup, the South Florida side failed to make the postseason.
As these roster-building dates approach, Inter Miami Sporting Director Chris Henderson will be keen on revamping the squad.
There are various ways Henderson could go about it. For example, Free Agency is an ideal way to bring in MLS veterans who know the league and journeymen who need a change of scenery. Similarly, the SuperDraft is a solid way to acquire young prospects for the club, with the hope that they can reach their full potential in a few years’ time—something that the team thrives on.
What is clear is that Inter Miami wants to add more silverware to its cabinet. This off-season, reconstructing the roster will help them achieve those heights.
