Lionel Messi will auction off six of his game-worn, World Cup-winning shirts.
In a mega collaboration with Sotheby’s, the 36-year-old will auction off six of the seven jerseys he wore during Argentina’s World Cup conquest.
The set of shirts will be available for purchase from November 30th to December 14th.
“The sale of these six shirts stands as a monumental occasion in auction history, offering fans and collectors a connection to Messi’s crowning achievement,” said Sotheby’s head of modern collectibles, Brahm Wachter.
“It is an honor for Sotheby’s to present and exhibit these invaluable collectibles to the public, which encapsulate the sheer brilliance of a player who has redefined the boundaries of football excellence.”
Messi helped La Albiceleste win its third World Cup title in December 2022, capping off a memorable career.
The forward subsequently signed with Inter Miami in the summer, where he led the team to the Leagues Cup title.
This collection will serve as a reminder of the ex-Barcelona man’s most prominent career triumph.
Messi’s 2024 plans with Inter Miami

Messi’s career has been historic.
From Newell’s Old Boys to Inter Miami and every Barcelona goal in between, the Argentine deserves the accolades.
Heading into his second year with Miami, Messi wants to add to his legacy by winning more silverware.
Speaking to the crowd before the team’s November 10th match against NYCFC, Messi touched on how he’d like to gain more success in 2024: “I had no doubt that we were going to have a good time, that we were going to enjoy it. Today I have no doubt, as I didn’t at the beginning, and much less now, that next year is going to be a lot better.”
As the team creeps closer to the next season, the pressure will mount. The organization will want to add to its Leagues Cup success by challenging for MLS Cup.
