It’s official! Inter Miami has confirmed the signing of Luis Suarez.
After months of negotiations, the South Florida club unveiled its latest acquisition on X just three days before Christmas.
Suarez has been linked to a move to Fort Lauderdale since the summer. The Uruguayan nearly made the switch to Major League Soccer in June, but the signing couldn’t go through due to Miami’s financial constraints at the time.
Now, with extra General Allocation Money to buy down contracts, the Herons were able to comfortably sign the ex-Barcelona striker.

Luis Suarez made it known that he struggles with a recurring knee issue.
Speaking to Uruguayan media after his penultimate game with Brazilian team Gremio, the attacker stated that his left knee has been troubling him for a while.
“The days before each game I take three pills and hours before playing I get an injection. If not, I can’t play. Hence the limp,” he told radio station Sport 890.
“The truth is that the first steps in the morning are very painful. Anyone who sees me thinks that it is impossible for me to play a game. My son asks me to play with him and I can’t.”
This health problem worries some fans. Many believe that Suarez may not be able to hold up in a 50+ game MLS season.
However, his knee ailment didn’t deter Inter Miami from signing the striker to a one-year contract that’s valid until the beginning of 2025.

Furthermore, Suarez will don the historic number nine kit for Miami, worn by the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and talented youngster Leonardo Campana before him.
2024 is looking exciting for the Herons.
With Suarez officially signing with the team, Miami will now look to finalize a deal with coveted MLS free agent, Julian Gressel.
The pressure is mounting for the Fort Lauderdale-based team. Winning MLS Cup is a major goal for the organization next year.
As the roster continues to be revamped, expect Miami to be the favorite to top the Eastern Conference.
