After weeks of negotiations and plans, Inter Miami finally sealed the deal and announced the signing of Luis Suarez on December 22nd.
Suarez joins the South Florida team after spending a year in Brazilian football, carrying Gremio to second place in the Campeonato Brasileiro, earning the Imortal Tricolor a spot in the Copa Libertadores.
Furthermore, the striker ended his season as the second-highest scorer in the league, netting and assisting 37 times in all competitions.
When he steps on the pitch for Inter Miami in 2024, expect the Uruguayan to continue his incredible run of form.

It’s been widely reported that the Suarez suffers from recurring knee issues, a problem that worries many Inter Miami fans.
Speaking to Uruguayan radio station Sport890 after his penultimate match for Gremio, the 36-year-old held a candid conversation regarding his health.
“The days before each game I take three pills and hours before playing I get an injection. If not, I can’t play. Hence the limp,” the ex-Liverpool man said.
“The truth is that the first steps in the morning are very painful. Anyone who sees me thinks that it is impossible for me to play a game. My son asks me to play with him and I can’t.”
Despite the chronic knee pain and painkillers, Suarez looks ready for a phenomenal 2024 alongside Lionel Messi.
In his first sit down interview with Inter Miami, Suarez expressed his excitement about teaming up with Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba again, and made a bold prediction about his partnership with the Argentine.
“The best player in the world is there and that generates great expectation. After being with them for many years, having achieved many things together, it makes us know each other well,” Suarez stated.
“We don’t need much time to understand each other on the pitch. I’m coming from the same mentality that they had, of wanting to help, and have the same hope and desire as all Inter Miami fans to win another title.”
Already, many pundits and fans believe that the Herons are the favorite to challenge for MLS Cup next season.
Though there’s still work to be done concerning the roster, Miami are well on its way to becoming a top team in Major League Soccer.
