Inter Miami and its offseason roster overhaul continues.
After a disappointing end to the season, the Herons enthusiastically jumped into the offseason.
Team CSO Chris Henderson stated during his end-of-year conference that the South Florida club would be making additions to strengthen the squad.
“We’re looking at everything to [improve the squad.] We have high hopes for 2024, and we want to show what we can do as a club,” he stated.
“Winning trophies and having high ambition is something we’ve had since day one.”
“We’re evaluating every department in our front office and performance staff, to support [Tata Martino] and his staff and all the players to make sure we’re performing everywhere in the club.”
Inter Miami is still constructing its roster with just a few weeks left until preseason, as 2024 approaches.
Reinforcements incoming?

Just recently, the Herons added iconic striker Luis Suarez to the side, and are in pole position to land free agent Julian Gressel.
Acquiring the Uruguayan striker took months of discussions. Initially linked to a move to Miami in the summer, the Herons couldn’t afford Suarez’s wages at the time.
However, the Fort Lauderdale-based team was able to receive General Allocation Money in a trade to buy down select contracts and fit the forward under its cap space.
But, despite all the attacking forces on the roster, Inter Miami desperately needs defenders.

According to Gaston Edul and several other Argentine sources, Inter Miami is interested in bringing ex-Manchester United center back Marcos Rojo to the club.
Rojo is currently playing his football at Boca Juniors, and his contract doesn’t expire until the end of 2025. If Miami wants to bring the Argentine to the United States, they’ll have to launch a bid for his services.
Per Argentine sources, Lionel Messi and Miami manager Tata Martino personally asked for Rojo to join the team in 2024.
It is uncertain if the Herons will complete the deal, but with its current roster changes, Inter Miami undoubtedly will be the favorite to contend for MLS Cup in 2024.
