The MLS franchise have come a long way in the last 12 months since Messi arrived in Florida, with Inter Miami now the top-ranked side in the division and the early favorite to win MLS Cup in the post-season later this year.
Although Messi is out injured, Inter Miami have improved greatly since the Argentine signed for the Herons in a blockbuster deal, with Tata Martino’s side signing some top players as a result, namely Luis Suarez, Julian Gressel and Matias Rojas.
And Rojas has now shared what it’s been like to play alongside Messi.

Speaking to the press today after Inter Miami training, Rojas shared his joy at getting to play with Messi at Inter Miami, with the Paraguay international proving to be a good forward to partner the 37-year-old.
With Messi Rojas’ role model growing up, it’s no surprise that the former FC Barcelona attacker has unlocked another part of the 28-year-old’s game, with the former Corinthians star thriving in MLS with Inter Miami.
Rojas said when asked what it’s like to play alongside Messi: “Leo is always there, he watches everything and he talks to us before games. He communicates more with those who can speak Spanish, he pays attention to what is happening, and he gives his opinion.
“We are proud to be in there, enjoying these moments, sometimes I talk to family to realize what is happening, but as I always say, I will not get tired of saying we share the day with the best player in the history of football, there are no words to describe what I feel every day.”

Messi has been a game-changer for MLS and Inter Miami, with the Herons now the best team in the division solely based on the quality the Argentine has brought o the Florida franchise.
And the levels Messi has taken this Inter Miami squad has to be applauded, with the likes of Rojas now superstar players in MLS despite being signed to be largely a supporting player.
Indeed, Messi has taken Inter Miami to new heights few would have expected, and with the attacker back to full fitness soon, there’s no telling where the Herons can go with the Argentine back in the XI.
