Inter Miami is in for a big 2024.

With an offseason set to lay the foundation for next year, the Herons are looking to fix the mistakes that plagued them in 2023.

Despite winning the Leagues Cup in the summer, the men in pink subsequently stumbled and failed to make the postseason.

During his end-of-year press conference, Inter Miami Sporting Director Chris Henderson vowed that the club will improve: “We’re looking at everything to [improve the squad.] We have high hopes for 2024, and we want to show what we can do as a club,” Henderson said.

“Winning trophies and having high ambition is something we’ve had since day one.”

For Inter Miami, improving the squad means acquiring a controversial forward with a knack for scoring goals.

According to The Miami Herald, Miami is in the final stages of bringing infamous striker Luis Suárez to the club.

When the Uruguayan joins the club in late December, many fans and media members around Major League Soccer will raise eyebrows.

The name ‘Luis Suárez’ invokes strong feelings in people, whether it be negative or positive.

His on-the-field controversies have been well documented and have followed the 36-year-old throughout his career.

When he suits up for Miami, the club will become pantomime villains.

Suárez is a player many love to hate.

With Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba on the team, many MLS fan bases won’t mind booing the quadrant when they take the field together.

Miami has been in controversy in the past. This era with Suárez won’t be any different from what the team has experienced.

If anything, it’ll give the Herons the momentum to achieve their goals. Miami wants to win more silverware.

The Leagues Cup was just a sliver of what’s to come. 2024 is set to be a historic season for the South Florida team.
