Inter Miami secured their third win of pre-season this weekend with a 3-1 result against Sporting San Miguelito in Panama.

Javier Mascherano named a strong starting XI with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez once again in the line up, though it was Tadeo Allende who Inter Miami fans were impressed with as the on-loan Celta Vigo forward scored his first goal for the Herons.

With Fafa Picault and Benjamin Cremaschi also on the scoresheet for Inter Miami, it was a good occasion for the support team to get some minutes ahead of the 2025 season, where the likes of Messi and Suarez will want to fire the Florida franchise to glory.

Although neither player scored, it was still a big occasion for both Messi and Suarez to increase their fitness with the new MLS campaign starting this month, and Sporting San Miguelito wonderkid Raheen Cuello enjoyed one moment post-match with the Inter Miami no. 9.

Raheen Cuello lauds Inter Miami’s Suarez for swapping shirts post-match

Speaking to the press after the game, the 17-year-old prospect shared how open and honest Suarez was when asked about swapping shirts, with the veteran striker agreeing to trade jerseys with Cuello after the full-time whistle.

Cuello said: “I told him before the match: ‘Lucho, can you exchange it with me?’ and he said it was no problem. He asked me and it’s something I’m not going to forget. I didn’t expect him to ask me, and I didn’t think about it for two seconds. I never imagined this would happen.”

With Inter Miami’s superstars the clear center of attention during these pre-season friendlies, the likes of Suarez showing their class will go a long way in building the club’s reputation on an international stage, especially with fans from countries close to the United States.

And Suarez showed with Cuello why he is one of the best players Inter Miami could have asked for to join Messi at Chase Stadium, with the former Uruguay international creating moments for the stars of the future.

Who will Inter Miami play next in their pre-season tour?

Inter Miami have passed the halfway part of their pre-season tour with flying colors, with Mascherano’s tactics looking like they are a good fit for the Herons heading into the 2025 MLS season later this month.

And the last two games of the tour against CD Olimpia and Orlando City SC will be a great way for Inter Miami to end their pre-season preparations, with the two sides good tests for the Florida franchise before facing New York City FC in the league opener.

Indeed, Inter Miami have looked strong this pre-season and could be strong favorites to go all the way in MLS this year, and for Suarez, finding form in the final friendlies will be huge in once again dominating the scoring charts.
