Tata Martino has now predicted if Sergio Busquets will be fit enough to feature for Inter Miami in their MLS opener next week.
The midfielder picked up an injury in the Herons’ final leg of their pre-season tour, with Busquets suffering a nasty tackle on the ankle against Vissel Kobe.
Despite coming off in quite some pain, news around Busquets’ injury has been largely positive, with the veteran expected to be out for a reported two weeks.

Yet speaking to the press via AS journalist Eduardo Burgos, Martino has now confirmed that Busquets could be in line to feature for Inter Miami in next week’s MLS opener.
Whilst the midfielder is 100% out for tonight’s friendly against Newell’s Old Boys, Busquets potentially featuring against Real Salt Lake would be a massive boost for Inter Miami, who will want to start the MLS season with a win.
Martino said on Busquets fitness: “If the first game of the season were tomorrow, I would play. But he won’t play (against Newell’s) because we want to save him for the debut (Real Salt Lake).”
Inter Miami will want Sergio Busquets back from injury ASAP

Busquets missing the MLS opener would have been a manageable problem for Inter Miami, who have the options to replace the Spanish midfielder for just one game.
Yet it will be a relief for many supporters to hear that Busquets could be fit enough to now play against Real Salt Lake, with Inter Miami back to full strength with the players available.
Indeed, Busquets will be keen to start the fixture and to show the world what the Herons are capable of this season, and the midfielder now looks set to feature against their MLS rivals next week.
