The Luis Suarez to Inter Miami rumors continue to heat up.

In an interview on the Men in Blazers podcast, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano was asked about superstars who could join Major League Soccer in the future. Among the inquiries was an update on Suarez and his potential move to Miami.

During the podcast, Romano claims that the Uruguayan will be on his way to MLS to reunite with Messi: “Probably the imminent one is Luis Suarez. Obviously the final part of his career, but Luis Suarez remains a fantastic striker in my opinion. I expect him to join Inter Miami at the end of the year and to partner again with Lionel Messi.”

Should the move come to fruition, it would signal that Miami intends to challenge for more trophies.

The Herons ended the year on a bitter note, failing to make the playoffs after winning the Leagues Cup in the summer. Although they concluded the season in a better place than where they started, missing the post-season was a huge blow.

Adding Suarez to the roster would give the team extra needed firepower in attack.

If Miami manages to bring the ex-Liverpool star to the league, they’ll have experience and a proven forward that will complement Messi well.

Rumors have been circulating about Suarez moving to Inter Miami for a while.

It feels that this winter will be the time when the Uruguayan officially moves to South Florida.

Although his age might be a concern, in the Brazilian Serie A this year, the striker has tallied up 19 G/A in all competitions for Gremio.

That’s an impressive run of form for a player who was reportedly set to retire due to excessive knee pain.

As Inter Miami shifts focus to the 2024 season, expect the Suarez rumors to linger a little longer. The forward’s contract with Gremio doesn’t officially expire until next month.

Until then, Miami will wait and see if they can acquire his services.
