Inter Miami officials reportedly now have an optimistic opinion on Sergio Busquets’ ankle injury after the midfielder went down against Vissel Kobe.
The 35-year-old maestro was forced off early in Tokyo last night as Busquets ended up on the receiving end of a wild tackle from Vissel Kobe striker Yuya Osako, with the midfielder heading straight down the tunnel.
Given the footage of the tackle, fears quickly emerged that Busquets could be out on the injury table for quite some time, joining the likes of Facundo Farias and Benja Cremaschi.

However, according to the Athletic, Inter Miami officials are optimistic that the injury isn’t as bad as it looks, with Busquets set for tests once the team are back in Florida.
With the MLS season just two weeks away from starting, Inter Miami can’t afford to lose a player as important as Busquets, especially with fitness concerns also being raised around Lionel Messi.
However, with Inter Miami now internally confident that Busquets’ injury isn’t too bad, there’s hope that the midfielder could be fit enough to start the opening game of the season for the Herons.
Inter Miami will have to hope Sergio Busquets’ injury isn’t serious

Injuries are a common part of pre-season tours, with Inter Miami experiencing first-hand what it’s like to lose out on two key players already in Farias and Cremaschi.
Yet Busquets joining that list would present a major issue with the Herons, with the midfielder one of the best in MLS and an essential part of Tata Martino’s Inter Miami plans.
Indeed, Busquets is a player known for being fit and available 24/7, and whilst this could help the veteran in his bid to overcome this latest injury scare, age is also a factor.
With two weeks to go until the new season, Inter Miami will need to take it easy on Busquets, yet this latest update is an encouraging one from the team.
