Javier Mascherano got off to the perfect start as Herons boss against Club America.
The Argentine manager watched on as his side came from behind to win on penalties against the Mexican giants.
Having drawn 2-2 in regular time, Santiago Morales netted the winning penalty meaning Mascherano made history as the first-ever Inter Miami manager to win his debut match in charge.
With his impact starting to be felt on the pitch, Mascherano is also having a huge part in transforming Miami’s squad.

Javier Mascherano’s Inter Miami transfer plan is clear to see
Having already signed the likes of Gonzalo Lujan and Telasco Segovia, Mascherano has wasted no time in shaping his new Inter Miami roster.
One thing we have learned from Mascherano’s transfers so far though, is that the Herons boss is seemingly more focused on bringing in talented youngsters rather than older, more experienced stars.
