FC Barcelona reportedly ‘dreamed’ of signing Argentine youth international Federico Redondo, though the midfielder now looks set to join Inter Miami.

The 21-year-old prospect has been strongly linked with a move away from Argentinos Juniors in recent weeks, with Real Madrid reportedly interested in signing Redondo.

However, recent reports seem to suggest that Inter Miami have won the race for the youngster, with the Herons in talks over an $8m deal to acquire Redondo’s services.

And according to E-Noticies, Barcelona were also in the race to sign Redondo, with the La Liga giants even ‘dreaming’ of bringing the midfielder to Catalonia ahead of the summer transfer window.

Yet as we know now, it is Inter Miami who are leading the chase for Redondo, with a deal to bring the midfielder to Florida potentially being wrapped up in the coming days.

Indeed, with Inter Miami beating Madrid and now Barcelona to Redondo’s signature, the MLS side can feel proud with their latest feat in the transfer window, which is more than impressive.

Inter Miami knew they were going to become an appealing club with Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Sergio Busquets on board, yet the signing of Redondo could be nothing short of insane.

From what we now know, the Herons are about to beat arguably the two biggest clubs in soccer to the Argentine youth international, with Redondo set to take his talents to Florida.

And for Inter Miami, winning this transfer battle is quite the feat, with Redondo someone who easily could have gone to Europe given the amount of interest there was in his signature.
