Inter Miami are reportedly in talks to sign Argentinos Juniors and Argentina youth international midfielder Federico Redondo.

The 21-year-old youngster has been strongly linked with a move to Florida, with Redondo a player Inter Miami are clearly interested in signing before the transfer window closes next month.

Likened to Sergio Busquets and lauded as an ‘elite’ midfield scanner as per Total Football Analysis, there’s good reason why Inter Miami are moving fast to secure Redondo’s signature.

And according to ESPN, the Herons are now in talks with Argentinos Juniors to sign the midfielder, with an $8m transfer offer already on the table from Inter Miami.

As per the report, Redondo would qualify as a U-22 signing, allowing Inter Miami to be more lax with their salary requirements and to offer a contract that the midfielder would find appealing.

The youngster has been linked with a move to the likes of Liverpool and Real Madrid, yet with Inter Miami making their move, the Argentine could soon be heading to Florida if the Herons play their cards right.

Inter Miami are no strangers to making game-changing signings after last year’s capture of Lionel Messi to even the arrival of Luis Suarez in January.

Yet Redondo would be a different kind of game-changing signing for Inter Miami given how highly-rated the midfielder is and how sought-after the youngster is.

As mentioned, some of Europe’s biggest clubs are chasing Redondo heading into the summer, and Inter Miami winning the race for the midfielder would be nothing short of incredible.

And with the Herons now deep into transfer talks with Argentinos Juniors, there’s a good chance that Inter Miami could pull off one of their biggest signings ever.
