Lionel Messi is Inter Miami’s best recruiting tool.
After signing with the club on July 15th, the Argentine has managed to convince three of his ex-teammates to join him in South Florida.
Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba, and now, Luis Suarez will team up for the first time in four years, as Miami gets ready for its fifth season in Major League Soccer.
Team Sporting Director Chris Henderson told the media in his end-of-year conference that the organization was focused on improving on the pitch to win more trophies.
“We’re looking at everything to [improve the squad.] We have high hopes for 2024, and we want to show what we can do as a club,” he said.
“Winning trophies and having high ambition is something we’ve had since day one.”
As 2024 and beyond inches closer, expect Inter Miami to be linked to even more world-class players thanks to Messi’s presence.
Ex-Barcelona teammates reunited at Inter Miami?

Inter Miami has already signed multiple ex-Barcelona players.
The aforementioned Messi, Alba, Busquets, and Suarez will make it four when the 2024 season kicks off. By the time 2026 rolls around, the Herons could have another Culer in its ranks.
In an interview with Spanish media outlet Sport, current Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann spoke about his desire to follow Messi and play in MLS one day after his contract ends.
“Beyond Europe, what I would like later is the MLS, I have always recognised that.”
Griezmann continued: “But Atletico will be almost one hundred percent my last club in Europe. It’s where I want to be, where I see myself happiest and here I am at home.”
By the time the World Cup winner’s contract is done with Atleti in 2026, Messi will likely be in his last year with Inter Miami.
Whatever this particular transfer saga brings, one thing is evident, Messi’s influence will be Inter Miami’s greatest recruiting method.
