Fabrizio Romano has issued a huge transfer update on Twitter regarding rumored Inter Miami target Federico Redondo, with FC Barcelona also chasing the midfielder.
The MLS franchise have been chasing the 21-year-old for the past few weeks, though recent reports have suggested that Inter Miami’s move for Redondo had collapsed due to MLS transfer regulations.
With Barcelona reportedly interested, it seemed likely that Tata Martino’s side were going to miss out on the Argentinos Juniors prospect to one of the biggest clubs in soccer.
However, according to Romano on Twitter, Redondo has now signed his contract to become an Inter Miami player, with the Herons expected to pay $8m for the Argentina youth international.
Whether or not the deal will be completed in time before the closure of the MLS transfer window next month is another question entirely, though, with Inter Miami in need of shedding off some salary space before confirming the move.
Yet with Redondo now signing a contract with Inter Miami, there’s a real chance that a transfer could soon be finalized, with this deal arguably one of the biggest in the Herons’ history.
Federico Redondo finally joining Inter Miami is massive

Redondo’s move to Florida has been in the works for what feels like forever, with every twist and turn imaginable being chucked at the MLS side’s way in the process.
Yet after this update, it now looks finally likely that the midfielder is on his way to Inter Miami in what could be one of the biggest and best deals the Herons have ever pulled off.
As we know, Redondo is one of the most highly-rated youngsters in all of Argentina and a player who is tipped to go straight to the top for club and country.
And Inter Miami winning the race for Redondo is a huge testament to how much pull the MLS franchise now has in the market, with playing alongside Lionel Messi a massive selling point for many players.
