Inter Miami have reportedly agreed a deal to sign CA Colon forward Facundo Farias, with the 20-year-old Argentine en-route to Florida to sign his contract.
According to M1, the MLS franchise have beaten Boca Juniors and River Plate to Farias’ signature, with Inter Miami set to pay $7m in total for the versatile youngster, who is likely to sign to a U22 initiative deal.
The news will come as a big boost for Inter Miami, yet for some fans, there will be confusion over why Farias has been signed despite strong rumors over the arrival of Gremio forward and Uruguay legend Luis Suarez.

The former FC Barcelona star has been strongly linked with a move to Inter Miami this summer, with reports even suggesting that the striker will forgo the remainder of his Gremio contract to secure a transfer to Florida.
However, Inter Miami’s move to sign Farias could hint that Suarez might not be ready to transfer to MLS just yet, with Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets having to wait that bit longer to reunite with their former teammate.
Indeed, whilst there’s still a strong chance Suarez ends up at Inter Miami, the signing of Farias could arguably be even more exciting based on the forward’s profile and record in Argentina.
Inter Miami might have landed themselves a bargain in Farias

An Argentine youth international with almost 100 senior appearances for CA Colon, there’s a lot to like when it comes to looking at Farias’ profile, with Inter Miami an ideal fit for the youngster.
Splitting most of his playing time between the striker position and an attacking midfielder, Tata Martino’s plan for Farias could be an interesting one depending on the final utilization of Messi and Josef Martinez at Inter Miami.
With Farias also able to play out on the left, the 20-year-old’s versatility will make the youngster an ideal fit for the Florida-based franchise, with Messi’s new countryman having the potential to become a star in MLS.
