Inter Miami are eyeing up a big signing in 2025, with Kevin De Bruyne a rumored target for the Herons.
The Manchester City maestro’s contract is due to expire at the end of the Premier League season, with Inter Miami one of the clubs linked with De Bruyne as the Belgian international begins to weigh up his options for next year.
With other MLS teams interested in signing De Bruyne, though, Inter Miami will have to be quick if they’re to secure the midfielder’s signature for next year, with the City star still considered one of the best in the entire planet.
And Inter Miami seemingly have a real shot at signing De Bruyne in 2025.
Inter Miami a ‘viable’ destination for De Bruyne next year
Speaking on ESPN Deportes, journalist Barak Fever said that there is a real chance that De Bruyne could make the move to Inter Miami in 2025, with the reporter saying when asked if the Belgian international could move to Florida: “Yes, I think it’s viable.
“The last big signings in MLS before Messi joined were big-name players from the Premier League, like Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard, but they came two or three years too late. In De Bruyne’s case, granted he’s been injured in the last year, he still has the quality to be a wonderful player in MLS. If Miami want to sign him, they have to sign him now.”
With Inter Miami also interested in signing the likes of Neymar, De Bruyne would be quite the addition for the Herons given how good the midfielder still is even after missing the majority of the last 12 months due to injury.
However, with rival MLS teams interested in De Bruyne and having the cap space to sign the Belgian superstar, Inter Miami will need to pull off some impressive front-office gymnastics if they’re to land the midfielder ahead of the likes of San Diego FC.
Who else could Inter Miami sign if they miss out on De Bruyne?
De Bruyne heads into the January transfer market as one of the most appealing targets for top MLS sides looking to bring in a world-class player, with Inter Miami firmly in that mix going into 2025.
Yet De Bruyne is far from the only superstar the Herons are reportedly interested in, with Inter Miami also keeping tabs on Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah and Javier Mascherano interested in signing Angel Di Maria.
Indeed, Inter Miami seem destined to sign a world-class player to add to their ranks in January, and De Bruyne could well be that player if the City star decides to leave the Manchester giants.
