Inter Miami are reportedly favorites to sign Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric, with news coming after the Herons suffered a blow for Federico Redondo.
The Argentine youth international was believed to be en route to Florida to join Inter Miami, with Tata Martino’s side beating the likes of FC Barcelona and Los Blancos themselves to Redondo.
However, reports have now suggested that a transfer has collapsed due to MLS restrictions on payment structures, with Redondo now expected to stay with Argentinos Juniors.

Yet according to E-Notices, Inter Miami have now emerged as favorites to sign Modric, who is set to leave Madrid at the end of this season after an incredible career in Spain.
Lauded as ‘world-class’ by Carlo Ancelotti, the veteran midfielder could be a sensational addition to MLS and for Inter Miami if Modric is open to a move to the United States.
Moreover, if Inter Miami can free up a Designated Player spot, Modric could be signed above the salary cap, a prospect that the Herons could find very tempting.
Inter Miami should prioritize Federico Redondo over Luka Modric

It might seem like a strange statement for Inter Miami to put signing Redondo over Modric considering how legendary the Croatian midfielder is in soccer.
Yet for where the Herons now are with their squad, signing young and exciting players should be the priority despite how incredible someone like Modric would be for Inter Miami.
The 38-year-old is one of the greatest midfielders to ever play the game and will leave Madrid this summer as one of their all-time best servants having won five UEFA Champions Leagues in Spain.
But for Inter Miami, it’s Redondo who Martino and his front-office staff should be chasing, with the 21-year-old simply too exciting a talent to miss out on this year.
