Inter Miami are reportedly struggling to reach an agreement with River Plate of the potential signing of Agustin Palavecino.
The 27-year-old midfielder has been strongly linked with a move to Florida in the past few days, with Inter Miami reportedly pushing hard to sign Palavecino after Facundo Farias’ injury blow.
Talks between the two clubs have taken place and all signs seemed to point towards Palavecino becoming the Heron’s latest January signing after Luis Suarez and Julian Gressel.

However, according to TyC Sports, Inter Miami and River Plate are now at an impasse over how to structure the deal, with the Herons only wanting a loan whilst the Argentine giants want a permanent sale.
Once lauded as ‘special’ by River Plate coach Martin Demichelis, missing out on Palavecino would be a huge blow for the Florida franchise’s transfer goals this January.
Yet with the Argentine side holding their ground over their demands for Palavecino, it could soon be time for Inter Miami to look elsewhere for a creative midfielder in the market.
Inter Miami could have to give up Agustin Palavecino chase

Palavecino is clearly a player who Inter Miami are interested in signing, with the MLS side seemingly doing all they can to bring the Argentine to the United States this January.
However, with River Plate being stubborn, there is a chance that Inter Miami could now give up on their chase to sign Palavecino this month, especially with pre-season now in full swing.
Indeed, Inter Miami need a replacement for Farias on top of a creative midfielder, and Palavecino could have suited the bill to a tee had the Herons managed to agree a deal with River Plate.
Yet as we now know, the two sides are at odds on how to structure the transfer, and Inter Miami might soon pull of talks with Palavecino, given what’s now at stake for the Florida side.
