Taylor Twellman has predicted Inter Miami duo Federico Redondo and Diego Gomez to attract offers this summer at the Olympics.

The two midfielders have impressed for the Herons this season with Redondo joining Inter Miami despite reported interest from FC Barcelona and Real Madrid as Gomez returned from a long-term injury.

Both players also played key roles for their respective nations in qualifying for the Olympics, with Redondo and Gomez expected to travel to Paris later this year to come for Argentina and Paraguay.

And speaking on Offside, pundit Twellman has predicted Redondo and Gomez to attract some serious offers from European clubs if they perform at the Olympics this summer.

The competition has historically been used as a platform for scouts at top clubs to watch some of the best youngsters on the planet, with the men’s Olympic soccer largely an U-23 tournament.

Twellman said: “Redondo, Gomez, you have two massive talents that were in CONMEBOL’s Olympic qualifying, they’re going to go to the Olympics this summer, Inter Miami are going to have to make some interesting decisions.

“There’s going to be offers for both players the moment they step foot in the first game of the Olympics, because that’s where so many scouts will think ‘we can now get them’.”

Redondo and Gomez are very much at the start of their MLS careers with Inter Miami, with the duo set to form a key part of Tata Martino’s plans for the rest of the season.

Yet with transfer talk already being thrown around for the pair five months out ahead of the Olympics, there’s a good chance that European clubs will come sniffing around for Redondo and Gomez.

And Inter Miami need to make it a mission of theirs to keep hold of the midfielders, with Redondo and Gomez simply too good to be sold just yet.
