Inter Miami has its sights on another talented young winger.

According to TYC Sports, the Herons have renewed their interest in Newell’s Old Boys youngster Brian Aguirre.

Per Cesar Luis Merlo, Miami was initially in for the Argentina international in the summer. However, due to financial constraints, the South Florida club couldn’t accommodate him.

The Herons would subsequently sign Facundo Farias instead, but it appears that the South Florida club will go after Aguirre once more.

Despite narratives about Miami’s ‘aging roster,’ the Fort Lauderdale team has assembled a strong core of young players.

Benjamin Cremaschi, Noah Allen, the aforementioned Farias, Tomas Aviles, and more have all contributed meaningful minutes to the first team.

As 2024 inches closer, expect Miami’s group of young players to have even more of an impact.

Inter Miami is a team on a mission.

The Herons ended 2023 on a poor note, failing to make the playoffs. Despite winning the Leagues Cup in the summer, Miami wants to add to its trophy haul next season.

Reports already state that Uruguayan forward Luis Suárez will join the team in late December.

Furthermore, the Major League Soccer trade window has opened, where the Herons will be active according to CSO Chris Henderson: “Without tipping what we’re going to do in trades, I do feel that we need to have competition in every spot.”

If Aguirre joins the side, he’ll link up with his idol Lionel Messi. Both players are from Rosario, Argentina, and have played for Newell’s Old Boys.

Though it remains to be seen if it will happen, Miami will surely like to add more firepower in attack heading into 2024.

It’s a long offseason, and the club will be precise in the roster moves they’ll make.
