Inter Miami might still be in MLS action, but a number of star players will be missing in the next two weeks due to the international break.

A number of Tata Martino’s most important figures have departed for the fortnight with Inter Miami missing a number of key players for upcoming games against the New York Red Bulls and New York City FC.

Whilst the likes of Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi have stayed put, Inter Miami will be weaker than most MLS sides due to the number of international call-ups received this month.

Here, we dive into which players have left, and who will be facing who on the international stage in the coming days.

Whilst Inter Miami have kept most of their firepower around for the international break, the main man between the sticks, Drake Callender, will be absent for the Herons.

Named in Gregg Berhalter’s squad for the CONCACAF Nations League semi-finals against Jamaica, the Inter Miami star has enjoyed a meteoric rise for both club and country in the last 12 months.

Whilst the 26-year-old is unlikely to play, Callender being around the USMNT camp will be good experience for the shot-stopper heading into this summer’s Copa America.

Diego Gomez Paraguay schedule

Diego Gomez has emerged as one of the most exciting prospects in Inter Miami’s squad, with Brighton & Hove Albion reportedly interested in signing this midfielder.

A regular for the Paraguay national team, Gomez will be able to showcase his talents this international break with the South American side against Russia, a friendly that has raised more than a few eyebrows.

Indeed, with Gomez set to leave Paraguay out in France for the Olympics, another senior appearance this month could go a long way for the Inter Miami star’s international star, which is already looking promising.

David Ruiz Honduras schedule

With DeAndre Yedlin gone, Tata Martino has turned to young David Ruiz to start at right-back for Inter Miami, who Julian Gressel was impressed by on the weekend against DC United.

However, for Honduras, Ruiz is likely to return to his preferred central midfield role, where the 20-year-old will face off against Costa Rica in a massive Copa America playoff.

Should Ruiz and Honduras succeed, the Central American nation will take part in this summer’s Copa America, where the Inter Miami star could face his teammate Messi against Argentina.

Shanyder Borgelin Haiti fixtures

With Inter Miami boasting the best attack MLS has arguably ever seen, Shanyder Borgelin has become something of a forgotten figure with the Herons despite the forward’s impressive cameos in recent weeks.

And this international break will see Borgelin dress for Haiti in what is being earmarked by the Caribbean nation as a new era for the national team after years of corruption and scandal.

Just the one international friendly will take place for Borgelin as Haiti take on minnows French Guiana, a game the Inter Miami attacker will want to win for his country.

Federico Redondo stole headlines earlier this year by opting to join Inter Miami despite reported interest from the likes of Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, with the midfielder one of Argentina’s most prized prospects.

Yet whilst a senior call-up hasn’t happened just yet, Redondo is on his way with the midfielder named in Javier Mascherano’s U-23 side that will face Mexico twice this March.

With Argentina competing in the Olympics this summer, Redondo will be a key player for the South American giants in their bid to win gold, with the upcoming series against Mexico a good test for the Inter Miami star.

Israel Boatwright Dominican Republic U-23s fixtures

Another Inter Miami youngster who will be competing in the Olympics this summer is 18-year-old fullback Israel Boatwright, who will represent the Dominican Republic.

An emerging nation on the CONCACAF scene, Boatwright signed his first pro deal with Inter Miami earlier this year as the Herons look to build to their growing arsenal of exciting talents.

And this month could see Boatwright make a name for himself in U-23 friendlies, where the Dominican Republic will face Olympic rivals Paraguay in a series of two matches.
