Inter Miami’s preparations for the 2025 MLS season are underway.
The era of Javier Mascherano has well and truly begun after Inter Miami’s first-team roster checked in for training following the winter break.
Mascherano revealed Lionel Messi will be part of pre-season, with the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner set to feature in Inter Miami’s tour of South America.
Before the Herons head south of the border though, they must first visit Texas to face off against Mexican giants Club America – in what will be a tough first test for Mascherano’s coaching staff.

Inter Miami v Club America kick-off time
Inter Miami’s pre-season clash with Club America is scheduled for a 10 pm ET/7 pm PT kick-off on Saturday, Jan 18.
The match will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Allegiant Stadium
Inter Miami v Club America TV/stream
Fans will be glad to hear that the Inter Miami vs Club America match, will be available to stream via Apple TV.
Team/injury news
The Club America clash will likely see new Inter Miami signing Fafa Picault make his first appearance in a Herons shirt. Soon-to-be Miami man Gonzalo Lujan won’t be available though.
Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba could all feature having been spotted training in the first session of pre-season.
In terms of absentees, Benjamin Cremaschi and Drake Callender’s USMNT call-up means both will miss Mascherano’s first game in charge, as they take part in the USA’s games against Venezuela and Costa Rica.
Facundo Farias’s impending Racing Club move means the midfielder will also not be part of the squad that travels to Las Vegas.
