Inter Miami has always been a brand-focused club.

The team’s logo, colors, and motto “Freedom to Dream” were carefully crafted before the team fielded a starting eleven. With Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba playing for the organization, the spotlight on Inter Miami has grown significantly.

These new high expectations permeate all aspects of the club, including the jerseys.

In early December, Footy Headlines leaked details regarding Miami’s 2024 home kit.

Suffice it to say, Inter Miami supporters didn’t enjoy what they saw.

According to Footy Headlines, Miami’s home kit will feature a deeper pink, a contrast to the baby pink that the team donned during the 2023 season.

“The Adidas Inter Miami 2024 shirt is mainly “Easy Pink,” the article said.

“Compared to the previous “Real Pink”, it is a reddish shade of pink.”

However, though some supporters may not mind the changes, parts of the Inter Miami faithful didn’t like the changes.

“Ain’t no way Messi gonna wear that,” one fan said on X.

The sentiment was similar on Inter Miami’s subreddit, /r/InterMiami.

“That’s the kit, pretty much. Not a fan of centered badges, but I’m glad we got rid of the cringe crypto sponsor,” one supporter said about Miami’s old sponsor, crypto company XBTO.

“Went from two iconic kits to this, an awful kit,” said another.

Others stated that the reaction was too harsh and that the fan base needs to calm down: “Y’all hated the current pink jersey when it looked like a polo shirt, but now it’s iconic and everyone loves it.”

Ultimately, whatever Messi wears, turns to gold.

According to The New York Times, Inter Miami 2023 home kit was the best-selling football jersey in North America.

Additionally, the South Florida club has massive plans for 2024 that will surely etch next year’s home kit into history.
