Inter Miami has been named one of the top Google searches of 2023.

On December 11th, Google released its annual “Year in Search” list which details all the top trends, and most searched moments of 2023.

Thanks to Lionel Messi, Inter Miami was the most Googled sports team of the year.

This comes as no surprise.

Though he’s only been in Miami since the summer, the 36-year-old has made a huge impact. The Argentine announced his intentions to join Major League Soccer on June 8th, and subsequently put pen to paper on July 15th.

Since then, Inter Miami has skyrocketed to the upper echelon of world football, being included in Vogue Magazine and becoming one of the best-selling jerseys in North America. Messi ended the year for Miami scoring 14 goals and notching 11 assists in all competitions, as the Herons missed out on the playoffs.

Although the men in pink ended the season in poor form, expect 2024 to see the team’s spotlight increase even more.

Inter Miami’s 2023 was bittersweet.

Though the club managed to win the Leagues Cup and sign the greatest player of all time, they failed to make the postseason.

To prevent that from happening again, Inter Miami will refresh its roster.

According to team CSO Chris Henderson, the Herons will evaluate every position within the organization: “We’re evaluating every department in our front office and performance staff, to support [Tata Martino] and his staff and all the players to make sure we’re performing everywhere in the club.”

Already, reports state that the club is finalizing a deal to bring forward Luis Suárez to Fort Lauderdale. Furthermore, the MLS trade window opened on December 11th, which allows Miami to bring in MLS-tested talent.

Ultimately, Inter Miami’s popularity isn’t dropping anytime soon.

2024 will see it grow even more.
