David De Gea reportedly rejected a last-minute January offer from Nottingham Forest, with Inter Miami linked with the former Manchester United star.

The Spanish goalkeeper has taken his time to find a new club since leaving the Premier League giants last summer, with De Gea turning down offers from Europe and Saudi Arabia.

And Inter Miami are also reportedly interested in signing De Gea, with David Beckham believed to be keen in bringing in the former United star to Florida.

Now, according to the Athletic, De Gea has turned down a late January move from Forest, with the former Atletico Madrid star still looking to join a top European club.

Whilst De Gea’s intentions are clear, the news could be viewed by Inter Miami as a potential boost as the Herons look to begin their plans for the summer transfer window.

And if the former United star is still available, Inter Miami have to try their luck and sign De Gea, who could be tempted by a move to play with the likes of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

As mentioned, De Gear seemingly has his mind set on joining one of Europe’s biggest clubs having left United last summer as a free agent.

And whilst MLS might be far from De Gea’s original plan, the 33-year-old rejecting Forest could give Inter Miami a slight chance at signing the goalkeeper in the coming months.

The Herons could this year feel ready to move on from Drake Callender, who this pre-season has looked rusty between the sticks for Inter Miami.

And De Gea could be viewed by Beckham and Tata Martino as a natural upgrade on the USA international, especially if the Spanish keeper is willing to make the move.
