Inter Miami is laying the ground for a highly anticipated 2024.

After failing to make the postseason in 2023, the organization is taking steps to remedy the mistakes from last year.

“We’re looking at everything to [improve the squad.] We have high hopes for 2024, and we want to show what we can do as a club,” Club CSO Chris Henderson stated.

“Winning trophies and having high ambition is something we’ve had since day one.”

Already, Miami has signed forward Luis Suarez and wing back Julian Gressel. They’ve also been on the hunt for a starting center back as well.

Reinforcements incoming says Martino

Speaking to the Miami Herald, the Miami manager stated that the Herons are on the hunt for a defender after letting go of Kamal Miller for General Allocation Money:

“It’s clear that with the departure of [Kamal Miller] to [the Portland Timbers] we need a center back, that is a priority for us,” Martino said.

“Then we have to see which players we may lose. With the arrivals of Luis and Julian we have two very good additions and we haven’t lost many players.”

Miami has been linked to Botafogo defender Victor Cuesta, yet a deal hasn’t been reached.

With just a month until the next season starts, the pressure is on. But Miami is aware that they desperately require reinforcements in the backline. Though the Herons have plenty of time, many fans would’ve liked to have had a defender in before preseason, but if Martino’s words mean anything, help is on the way.

“Surely there will be more movement before the start of league play.”
