Inter Miami have reportedly made five players available for sale after a bombshell transfer update that could once again derail the Herons’ upcoming MLS season.
Reports emerged last night that Tata Martino’s side need to make some sales before the start of the new campaign if they’re to meet MLS’s roster regulations, something Inter Miami have already broken once before.
The Florida franchise have gone big on new signings this year with Luis Suarez and Julian Gressel the two notable additions, with Argentine talent Federico Redondo also on the edge of joining for $8m.
Yet according to the Athletic, Inter Miami have already put five players up for sale in order to hit their roster and salary goals, with the names being Gregore, Jean Mota, DeAndre Yedlin, Robert Taylor and Sergii Kryvstov.
With Yedlin the former captain before Lionel Messi’s arrival and Taylor arguably the most improved player in the last 12 months, Inter Miami are being cut-throat with their approach.
Yet given the position the Herons have once again put themselves in, it’s no real shock that Inter Miami need to let go big-name players if they’re to now hit their salary requirements.
Inter Miami need to start getting transfers organized
Time is of the essence for Inter Miami heading into next week’s MLS opener, with the Herons in need of making a number of sales if they’re to make their roster compliant for the new season.
Whilst this crisis is something Inter Miami could have easily avoided had they once again just followed the rules, there’s no time now to argue over the lawfulness of the Florida side’s front office dealings.
Indeed, Inter Miami have to get outgoing transfers done as soon as possible, and movement could be made in the coming days before the clash against Real Salt Lake.
